Every year, the best ads from around the world are submitted and judged at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in France. Regarded by many as the most prestigious event in the industry, winning here does wonders for ad agency egos. But what does it take to make a winning ad? Obviously it requires creativity, great art direction and a compelling message – to name a few. One ingredient might also be a great tune. We had the chance to view all of the winning ads from the 2010 event and this post showcases how a song can propel an ad from ordinary to Cannes Lion winner. All of these won awards at the festival. The Tropicana ad took top honors from this list winning a Gold Lion.
